With all of the re-routes and trail improvements on the Hagg Lake Trail, the course is now a little longer than a traditional half marathon (~13.8 Miles); but don’t worry, we won’t charge for the extra distance. Course will be going clockwise around the lake. You will make your way through open meadow trails, closed canopy, and some of the most scenic old growth forests in Oregon. It is a moderately hilly trail, with some short steep climbs and descents with plenty of roots, rocks and bridges.
This course is guaranteed to get your heart pumping through the scenic trail system at Scoggins Valley. We will send you counterclockwise, onto an epic out and back (kinda like a lollipop shape) course.
This course is the actual 5k course for the Sprint Triathlon. You’ll leave Boat Ramp C heading north on a fun little section of the Hagg Lake Trail. Jumping roots and ruts with some small short steep climbs. You’ll end up on the road where you will run about 1/3 mile and then head back on to the trail the way you came and then back through Boat Ramp C to the finish line.
AWARDS, PRIZES, & GOODIES:
All finishers will get an XTERRAPDX stainless pint glass that you (if you’re over 21) can take over to the Beer Garden to fill it up, pizza from Papa Murphy’s pizza, awards for top placing athletes, and over $1000 worth of raffle prizes and games.
